Beeminder, Aha! and Vision6 Now on Zapier; Conspiracy Santa App Launches, Too!

Danny Schreiber
Danny Schreiber / December 1, 2014

Take a break from gift buying on Cyber Monday and catch up with the latest from Zapier. This past month we were busy integrating three unique apps, inventing a new way to run the traditional office gift exchange and working on the next stage of Zapier—mum's the word on the final item for now.

Here's a look at the three new apps on Zapier, the unique ways our customers utilize automation, the five most-read blog posts this month and the three new faces on the Zapier team.

Beeminder

Never miss another goal. That's the idea behind Beeminder, an app that helps you achieve your goals by having you put money on the line. If you don't do enough sit-ups by month's end, for example, you'll forfeit the $40 you bet against yourself. With Zapier, Beeminder can be connected to hundreds of apps, including time-tracking tool Toggle, task manager Todoist and file management app Dropbox.

Aha!

Aha! is the project management tool perfected for product managers. Whether you're establishing goals, laying out a roadmap or considering user feedback, Aha! ties all your duties together with its robust tool. And when connected to Zapier, you can connect Aha! to the dozens of other apps you may use as a product manager, such as UserVoice, Asana and Yammer.

Vision6

Vision6 lets you design, create and send beautiful emails within minutes. The email marketing system also offers features for SMS and social media campaigns along with a recently amped up autoresponder tool. Connected with Zapier, Vision6 can become a powerful tool to streamline customer communication.

Cool Zapier Use by Customers

Zapier for a Twitter contest
Digital marketer Brad Knutson offers a tutorial on how to use Zapier for a Twitter contest.

Nothing beats hearing how our customers make the most of Zapier. Here are some of the ways people found Zapier helpful to their projects and business in November.

  • Benjamin Howes of Zoetrope shows us how to use webhooks to capture leads from a website and move the user information into Base. What Benjamin estimated to be at least a day's worth of engineering work took 20 minutes.
  • Wordpress website management can be very tedious, so Charles Costa of CJC Digital presents all of the ways he automates much of his workload for Wordpress sites. Charles has also shared a lot of the Zaps he finds the most helpful, which you can start using right from his post.
  • Keeping your entire team in sync across multiple tools and disciplines isn't easy, and can cause many problems. Lars Ørhøj of Visiolink talks to Zapier partner Hubspot on how they manage their process across the company.
  • Greg Galant at Sawhorse Media shows how Zapier fits into his $55k annual spending on SaaS apps. Many of the apps included have integrations with Zapier, which enable Greg and his team to connect the dots across them.
  • If you have ever wanted to run a Twitter hashtag contest but dreaded the manual effort that would require, Brad Knutson lays out just how simple it is with the help of Zapier.
  • As content marketing grows in popularity, putting together a set of tools to help you streamline the process becomes even more important. Blogger Brittany Berger shows off her favorites, including Zapier.
  • The professional Wordpress podcast dedicates an entire episode to automation possibilities between Wordpress and Zapier.
  • Jordan Skole shows off the flexibility of the Zapier developer platform when it comes to creating any custom integration you'd like to.

Conspiracy Santa: A Better Secret Santa for Teams

Conspiracy Santa

As a remote team, Secret Santa came up short to satisfy our gift-giving goals. So we came up with a twist on the tradition: Conspiracy Santa. In this version, we team up in an email thread to "conspire" against one teammate—that is, we work together to find them the perfect gift. And since this involves some clever email sending (you always need to exclude the gift recipient from the thread), we spun up an app to get the game started.

Check out the rules on our blog or get the game started at ConspiracySanta.com.
