About Free State Project

Free State Project is a Manchester, New Hampshire based nonprofit committed to the unalienable rights as set forth in the United States’ Declaration of Independence, the rights to "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". According their mission, the Free State Project is dedicated to education and promotion of human liberty, free markets, and the state of New Hampshire.

These philosophies are laid out in their creed:

"The Free State Project is an effort to recruit 20,000 liberty-loving people to move to New Hampshire. We are looking for neighborly, productive, tolerant folks from any and all walks of life, of all ages, creeds, and colors, who agree to the political philosophy expressed in our Statement of Intent, that government exists at most to protect people's rights, and should neither provide for people nor punish them for activities that interfere with no one else."

Like many nonprofits, Free State Project is a small operation needing to leverage the use of limited time and resources to achieve their principal goals. In order to recruit and organize 20,000 plus pro-liberty activists they need to send thank you emails to donors and activists, keep track of payments to independent contractors, track additional expense details and event sales information.

Problem

These processes were completely manual prior to implementing Zapier, which inevitably led to an increased likelihood of mistakes and errors occurring as well as a time and resource inefficiencies.

Solution

Using the Zapier platform, Free State Project was able to greatly increase efficiency while reducing the likelihood of mistakes so they could focus on what is truly important to them: driving their mission and achieving their goal of recruiting 20,000 activists. They were able to achieve this goal in February 2016.

A few examples of some of the Zaps they used in accomplishing this goal:
