As we kick off 2016, let's take a moment to look back at our biggest year of automation yet. Here's Zapier in 2015, by the numbers:

  • 309 new apps added to the Zapbook
  • 4 million Trigger-Action combinations surpassed
  • 876 million tasks automated by customers

Estimating that an individual task saves a user 60 seconds, the automated tasks collectively gave back 14.6 million hours of work. That's more time to spend with family and friends, devote to other parts of your business, and learn new skills.

But what's new to Zapier in December? Folders for your Zaps, a highly-requested featured of our customers, rolled out at the start of the month. We welcomed nine apps to the Zapbook, too, including tools for team communication, software for moving companies, and a CRM for our Portuguese speaking friend. We also made a significant update to our JIRA integration and added a valuable Action to Slack.

Zap Folders

Obsessive organizers rejoice: Folders are here. Now you can group your Zaps by project, app, client, Zappiness, or whatever—it's totally up to you.

To get started with folders, visit your Dashboard and hit the + button on the left-hand side to create your first folder. Move Zaps to a folder using the dropdown arrow to the right of the Zap. Rename or delete a folder by hovering over it and hitting the gear.

Nine New Apps

SharpCloud

Please note that as of October 2022, this app no longer integrates with Zapier.

Trying to communicate with your team by showcasing your vision for a future update to your business and get everyone on board? SharpCloud brings data, videos, documents, and feedback capabilities all into one presentation for easy collaboration with anyone.

Moverbase provides moving companies the tools needed to organize every portion of a move from gathering quotes, to scheduling availability, down to creating inventory lists.

Fleep

BowTie

A CMS is a great way to build out a website, however sometimes you need a more robust option, such as a feature rich static site. BowTie gives you the flexibility of a hosted, static site, along with other features like database free user management, easy templates to use for blogs and landing pages, Stripe payment capture, and other marketing tools.

Paradiso LMS

There are many people for whom learning can be quite difficult, with educational and even recertification materials that are extremely outdated and boring. A Learning Management System such as Paradiso LMS can change that, offering engagement tools like social media tie-ins, gamification, and various templates to help you compose your courses.

Delivra

As marketers, the amount of work that needs to be done just a few people can be extremely daunting. Fortunately, there are apps like Delivra to help us bring many of our tasks in one place, such as email marketing tools to help you keep your lists informed through their entire customer journey.

BuySellAds

Advertising, in general, has become more fragmented. Sales, creative, negotiations, media planning, and collecting the income, all come together with BuySellAds, putting highly scrutinized publishers at your fingertips giving you the best avenue for your ads.

Moskit

Sales teams will always need ways to manage their leads and processes. For our Portuguese speaking friends there's Moskit, which gives you the power to leave the spreadsheet behind when it comes to organizing leads and contacts, and allow you to close sales deals much quicker.

Two App Updates

JIRA Updates

Popular project development tool JIRA received two key updates this month:

  • Support was added for Components
  • The Assignee and Reporter were changed to dropdowns, no longer will you need to manually input usernames

JIRA users who have Components data you wish you could use in Zaps, edit them now and that option will be available to you.

New Slack Action

If you use the channel topic in Slack to communicate with your teammates, you can now set that automatically with a Zap. We at Zapier use the topic in various channels to easily find meeting notes, and that's done for us via a Google Sheets to Slack Zap. Here are a few other ideas you can try with the new action as well:
