Deciding whether your plan still fits means looking past the billing period you're in right now. The Usage insights tab shows the current period, but plan decisions usually need the last several.
You can now export up to your last 12 completed billing periods of task usage as a CSV from the Usage insights tab. Each row puts the tasks you used next to your plan's task limit, so you can see at a glance which periods ran close. The export is in open beta.
Right-size your plan
Compare each period's usage with your plan task limit and the tasks you used above it. If you're regularly close to the limit, or well under it, you'll see it before your next renewal.
Spot busy and slow stretches
With up to 12 periods in one file, a busy quarter or a quiet one shows up as a pattern. Chart total tasks by period in a spreadsheet, and use the days_in_usage column to account for periods that ran short because your plan changed.

Share the numbers with finance
The CSV gives whoever manages your software budget the usage data without a Zapier login. It shows task counts only, with no prices or costs, and totals cover the whole account.
It can differ slightly from your invoice: the file counts whole days in UTC and shows usage before any task credits.
What's in the file
Each row is one billing period, with columns for the period start and end, days in the period, plan, plan task limit, total tasks used, and tasks used above the limit. The file leaves out your current period and any period on a Free plan, doesn't break usage down by Zap, and covers a fixed window.

How to export it
Open your Billing & usage settings, select the Usage insights tab, and click Export usage history in the upper right of the Plan usage this period section. The usage insights guide explains every column.
Availability
Usage history export is in open beta on Free, Professional, and Team plans with a monthly task limit. It isn't available on Enterprise plans or plans with an annual task limit. On Team plans, Admins and Owners can open the Usage insights tab.
