New Starred Email and New Labeled Email Triggers Part of New Gmail App on Zapier
In the wake of Gmail authentication updates, a new Gmail app has arrived on Zapier that meets the new standard and puts the service's new REST API into play, too.
You might have noticed this transition in your own account already—seeing a "Gmail (Legacy)" app—but if you haven't yet, give your dashboard a visit. There you'll see the Zaps that use the old connection now have a grey Zapier icon. We'll continue to support this legacy integration, but we strongly encourage you to update these Zaps by switching to the new Gmail app and authenticating it with your account.
Once you do, you'll find three new triggers:
- New Starred Email: Trigger off emails that you star in your inbox
- New Labeled Email: Trigger off emails that get a certain label
- New Email Matching Search: Trigger off new emails that match a Gmail search query, such as
from:danny@zapier.comorsubject:meeting
To get started with the new Gmail app on Zapier, either jump into the dashboard to review your Zaps, start setting up a fresh integration in the Zap editor or use one of the popular Gmail integrations below.
