What Ontraport Triggers and Actions are Supported?

Supported Triggers#

  • Tag Removed - Triggers when a tag is successfully removed from a contact or custom object.
  • New Form Submission - Triggers when a contact successfully fills out an Ontraport or ONTRAPages Form.
  • Tag Added - Triggers when a tag is successfully added to a contact or a custom object.
  • New Contact - Triggers when a new contact is added to Ontraport.

Supported Actions#

  • Create or Update Contact - Creates or updates a contact in Ontraport.

How to Get Started with Ontraport on Zapier

About the Ontraport Integration#

  • Admin/owner permissions: Access is limited in accordance with the user's role in Ontraport
  • Paid/versioned account: Requires a paid Ontraport plan

Setting up the Ontraport Integration#

The first thing you'll want to do is connect your Ontraport Account to Zapier. As you start making your Zap we will automatically ask you to start when the time is right!

Authentication Setup

Next, you'll be asked for your Ontraport API Key and App ID.

To find your API Key and App ID, you'll first want to log into your account and head to your Administration area.

On the next screen, click the "Integrations" menu and then the link for "Ontraport API Instructions and Key Manager".

Click New API Key and copy and paste the values that result into Zapier.

Once you've entered your API Key and App ID and clicked continue, we'll test your account to make sure the connection works. If it does, you're all set!

Common Problems with Ontraport

403 error on connecting an account#

Make sure that you're using the Ontraport API credentials and not the Office AutoPilot credentials (the old version of Ontraport). Unfortunately, we do not support Office AutoPilot.

My date/time field is incorrect when sent to Ontraport#

All dates passed to the Ontraport API must be in Unix Time format (also known as seconds since epoch). You made need to use a Formatter step (link here) to convert the date to Unix (it's the format that says "X") before sending the date to Ontraport.
