How to Get Started with ClickTime on Zapier

To get started with ClickTime on Zapier, first you will need to connect your ClickTime account to use with your Zap.

Next, you'll be asked to name your ClickTime connection and enter your username and password.

Common Problems with ClickTime

(404) Not Allowed Errors#

All ClickTime accounts have access to the API, with the exception of accounts that require the use of DCAA. These accounts have special features that ensure compliance with DCAA regulations and unfortunately, cannot use Zapier.

Also, while administrators have unilateral control in ClickTime, the creation of list entities such as ClickTime Jobs may be limited by your account settings, if you have a security level other than administrator, please reach out to your ClickTime administrator for access.

(403) Forbidden Errors#

If your account setting requires the use of start and end times for time entry, you may not be able to use Zapier for the creation of standard time entries. You may, however be able to create time off entries.

(400) Invalid _____ID (eg: ClientID)#

When setting up zaps, you may see dynamic dropdown fields to lookup related list items. For example, when creating a zap with an action of Create ClickTime Job you will select a Client. If your ClickTime account settings change such that you no longer have access to that Client, you may receive this error. Simply edit that zap to ensure you still have access to that related list item.

Can’t access other users after connecting a manager or administrator account.#

At the moment, there is no way to access time entries for other user accounts. You will need to connect each user’s account and create a separate Zap for each one.
