People Operations Generalist (AMER)

Hi there!

We're looking for a People Ops Generalist to join the People Ops team at Zapier. Zapier’s on a mission to make everyone more productive at work. Zapier has helped millions of people build businesses through the power of automation. Want to help grow and nurture the team behind a product that allows everyone to be more productive at work?

If you’re interested in advancing your career at a fast-growing, profitable, impact-driven company, then read on…

About You

  • You are exceptionally well organized. You can systematically balance numerous priorities at once. You have an eye towards efficiency and making processes better.
  • You balance your time well. You hold yourself accountable and follow through on your work with little supervision.
  • You are obsessed with details. You sweat the small stuff, but keep the big picture in mind. You know how important details are when it comes to administering programs or scheduling tasks to help ensure employee happiness.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • You have experience with an HRIS, like BambooHR and an LMS like Lessonly. If you’ve not used these tools, you should feel comfortable researching them and pushing buttons to see what happens.
  • You know your way around GSuite or Excel.  You don’t need to be a Google Sheets or Excel wiz but you do need to be able to build spreadsheets and docs and do some basic analysis.
  • You are resourceful. You're willing to find the answers to questions, but ask for help when needed.
  • You believe in amazing customer service. You always go the extra step to help our employees and our operations team.

Things You Might Do

Zapier is a fast-growing and remote-first company, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. That said, here are some things you'll probably do:

  • Work closely with People Ops to take the lead over administrating people processes
  • Support the People Business Partners with reporting requests, projects, and other tasks as needed.
  • Balance tasks and requests from a wide variety of stakeholders across the Ops team and the company.
  • Be the point person for all questions that come through the People Ops Slack channel and assist with inquiries in other company-wide Slack channels.
  • Gather metrics and prepare reporting for monthly People Ops stats and promotions metrics
  • Update employee labor law postings as needed.
  • Complete employment verifications, immigration invite letters, swag requests, and other employee inquiries.
  • Work with People Ops to drive clear and compelling communications to promote initiatives.
  • Own and maintain data and reporting in our HRIS (BambooHR)
  • Act as a backup for the Total Rewards team as needed.
  • Act as IT’s backup systems administrator for G-suite, Slack, and other tools.
  • Assist with company onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • As a part of Zapier's all-hands philosophy, help customers via support to ensure they have the best experience possible.

How to Apply

We have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We first ask a few questions in our application form that would typically be asked at the start of an initial interview. This helps speed up the process and lets us get to know you a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.

After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to make sure you never go more than seven days without hearing from us.

Zapier is an equal opportunity employer. We're excited to work with talented and empathetic people, and do not discriminate based on race, color, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, pregnancy, age, or any other status protected by local law. Our code of conduct provides a beacon for the kind of company we strive to be, and we celebrate our differences because those differences are what allow us to make a product that serves a global user base.

Zapier is committed to inclusion. As part of this commitment, Zapier will ensure that people with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodations are needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact jobs@zapier.com.
