Communications Manager

Hi there!

We're looking for a Communications Manager to join the communications team at Zapier. Zapier’s on a mission to make everyone more productive at work. About You

You’re a skilled PR pro. We’re looking for 4+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing communications roles on behalf of B2B companies. Prior PR agency experience is preferred but not essential. Your skill set includes media relations, writing, speaking/awards programs, and project management.

You’re an excellent written communicator. You’ve written company messaging, media pitches, executive talking points, and op-eds. You know how to translate a product’s value into easily-understood and compelling content for reporters and analysts. We’re also a 100% remote team, and writing is our primary means of communication at Zapier.

You’re creative and resourceful. You try as many angles as possible to secure positive press mentions for clients and companies. You keep an eye out for media, speaking, and award opportunities as they arise and keep up on industry trends.

You believe relationships are critical to success. You have relationships with business and tech media, you have experience working with customers or partners, and you’re able to quickly build trust with cross-functional teams and external agencies.

You’re solid at time management. You’ll juggle a variety fast-moving communications projects, and as a part of a distributed team, you’ll be trusted to work with minimal supervision. As a part of a growing company, you have an opportunity to make a big impact, and you’re keen to build processes that’ll make your job more efficient over time.

 

Things You’ll Do

  • Develop and manage strategic PR programs that tell Zapier’s story to customers and partners
  • Secure coverage regularly for Zapier with technology and business publications
  • Work with our external agency on PR campaigns and help to drive their results
  • Build and execute our data PR campaigns, finding ways to showcase our data in a variety of outlets
  • Grow our list of referenceable customers and help manage relationships with top brands that use Zapier
  • Identify and prepare Zapier spokespeople for media interviews and speaking opportunities
  • As a part of our All Hands Support initiative, help customers have the best possible experience with Zapier

The Whole Package

Location: Anywhere United States or Canada

Our team of 180+ is distributed because it lets us work with the best people. You don't have to be located in the USA either. Some team members live in the United Kingdom, Thailand, India, Nigeria, Taiwan, Guatemala, New Zealand, Australia, and more! You just need the skills and drive to succeed in this role and the ability to work from anywhere.

However, due to the unique needs of support, we do hire with coverage for specific timezones in mind. Generally speaking, this means that we count on new teammates to work from the timezone they're hired in. As with every rule, there are absolutely exceptions and flexibilities, and advance notice of long-term timezone changes goes a long way! If you have any questions on this at all, we'd be happy to discuss the specifics of your situation during the interview process.

  • Competitive salary (we don't use remote as an excuse to pay less)

*While we take care of our international folks as best we can, currently, healthcare and retirement plans are only available to US-based employees.
