Director of Advertising and Paid Media

Hi there! 

We're looking for an exceptional marketing leader with deep expertise in paid media strategy, execution, attribution, and measurement at scale. You will build and lead our media teams, agency relationships, tech infrastructure, and modeling while teaching the company about our acquisition and media programs.  We are looking for someone with a proven history of driving successful, scaled media campaigns while leading high-performance teams.

As Zapier’s Advertising Director, you will work together with your team to drive our campaign analysis, ad creative, testing, and measurement.  You will work with the product team to develop and optimize landing pages and other campaign assets related to the product. Additionally, you will partner with the Analytics team to provide attribution rules, reporting, and a framework for team level campaign analysis.  You will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and work together to set a vision for our advertising, develop a world-class team, and create cross-functional partnerships within marketing and across the organization.

About You

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a proven track record in user acquisition, paid media, and advertising
  • Passion for managing people, developing talent, and building a resilient team culture
  • Experience driving strategic work and operationalizing the output across an organization
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to present work at an executive level
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to partner with analytics teams to develop and apply key insights
  • Positive, company first attitude, strong collaborator with proven ability to partner/lead cross-functional efforts

 Things You'll Do:

Zapier is a fast-growing and remote-first company, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. That said, here are some things you'll probably do:

  • Own company paid media strategy
  • Own Zapier's paid media campaigns, media planning, execution, and measurement
  • Drive testing of new channels, validating, and scaling where data supports it
  • Build a world-class team of media strategists, campaign managers, and media buyers
  • Understand the competitive media landscape, and identify opportunities to reinforce Zapier's competitive category leadership through paid media
  • Inform marketing campaign strategy based on knowledge of the media landscape, media performance, and creative performance
  • As part of our All Hands Support initiative, every week help customers have the best possible experience with Zapier
