Find Todoist Users

Long gone are the days of paper lists and sticky notes, each with multiple reminders and to-dos scrawled on them. Thanks to task management apps such as Todoist, we can track our tasks across many platforms. But a similar problem still remains: there are many different apps where we discuss to-dos and are assigned tasks. It's time-consuming to manually transfer those tasks to a single app.

That's where Zapier comes in. Todoist users automatically send action items from other apps to Todoist with Zaps like these:

The possibilities of using Todoist and Zapier together are growing. Thanks to updates recently made to Zapier's Todoist integration, you can use Todoist Zaps in multiple new ways.

Zapier Can Now Dynamically Search Todoist

Because of Zapier's new searching feature called Search Actions, Zaps can now search for existing users, projects, and tasks in Todoist. Plus, if the Zap doesn't find the particular project or task you are looking for, it will create it. Think of these new searching capabilities like a flexible search engine powered by Zapier. Base your search on data from a previous step in your Zap, and then use the results of that search in a subsequent step of your Zap.

For example, you can set up a Zap that triggers whenever you receive a new Gmail message from a someone at your company domain. The Zap will then automatically use the sender's email address to search for them in Todoist as an existing user. Next, the Zap will automatically create a new task and assign it to that user. This Zap will simplify your work day and save you the time it takes to manually create tasks and assign them.

You can also search for projects or tasks in Todoist with Zaps like these:

Automatically Mark Tasks as Complete, Plus New Ways to Create Tasks

Recent updates made to Zapier's Todoist integration now allow you to use Zaps to mark Todoist tasks as complete. Try out this new capability with a Zap like this:

More good news: the "Create Task" action now has fields for labels and assignees, so that you can add more details to the Todoist tasks you create through Zapier.

New 'Labels' and 'Assigned to' Fields in the 'Create Task' Action
