I could never be a social media manager because the anxiety would eat me alive. What if a user pointed out an embarrassing error? What if I scheduled a post that would've been fine one day, but poor taste the next due to a current event?

Apps like ContentCal help social media teams plan and execute their social strategy, so those kinds of meltdowns (publicly or privately) don't occur. If you're managing social strategy, you're juggling between posting to several networks—and what works on Twitter won't work on Instagram.

With Zapier, you can automatically send information from one app to another, helping you reduce manual tasks. With our automatic workflows, which we call Zaps, you can post to social media, create an archive of your posts, and more.

We've rounded up a few Zap templates—what we call those pre-made workflows—to get you started. Just click on one, and we'll guide you through the set-up process. You can read more about setting up Zaps here.

You'll need a Zapier account to use the workflows in this piece. If you don't have an account yet, it's free to get started.

Post to social media

Social media tools like ContentCal exist because social media managers know manually posting to each social media app is annoying and time-consuming. Each network requires a different posting cadence. There are character limits to consider for text. And if you're uploading photos, you need to write the captions and alt text.

These Zaps will automatically create a new post in your social media app whenever you add a post to ContentCal. You can also add a filter step—available under our paid plans—if you only want your Zap to run when you create a ContentCal post for a specific social channel.

Generate content from interesting reads

Depending on your brand's target audience, sharing interesting content from other folks might be a part of your social strategy. After all, it's boring just talking about yourself, right?

These workflows will automatically create ContentCal posts whenever you add an item to a bookmarking app like Pocket. Want to save interesting reading material as inspiration instead? You can also automatically add items to your Pinboard, a ContentCal feature that allows you to collect ideas in a centralized place.

If you use a tool we didn't list, don't worry! Zapier works with thousands of apps. Head to our App Directory and search for the one you use, or browse to find the right solution for your needs.

Create a social media archive

The idea of keeping an archive of your social media posts sounds exhausting. With all the content you're producing, when will you find the time to meticulously track each post? However, it's helpful to track your posts if you audit your content for future planning. It will also speed up searches of posting history, for example, if you need to dig up a Twitter post from a few months ago.

You don't have to copy-and-paste post information to a spreadsheet. These Zaps will automatically add a new ContentCal post to a spreadsheet app like Google Sheets or Airtable.

Turn discussions into social strategy

A company's social media presence is rarely the work of one person. A few people may have collaborated on the perfect tweet to announce a product launch, or maybe someone highlighted a cool campaign from a competitor in your team chat app.

Turn those discussions and brainstorms into potential content with these Zaps, which will automatically add new messages from your team chat app to your ContentCal Pinboard.

Take your social media marketing to the next level

This is just the start of all that you can do with ContentCal and Zapier. Zapier supports thousands of apps, so you automate almost any task at work. Start building your Zap now and see what you can create.
