    • Description

      An internal description for the letter within Lob.

    • FileRequired

      A URL to an 8.5"x11" PDF OR an HTML string to use as the content of your letter. See here for templates and more instructions on image prepping. To use HTML in Zapier, do not use Lob Template IDs (e.g. tmpl_4c54dcdd458319e). Instead, paste your HTML directly into the text box below and use Zapier's merge functionality to set variable content (example). See here for HTML examples and templates.

    • ColorRequired

      Set this key to true to if you would like to print in color. Set to false if you would like print in black and white.

    • Address Placement

      Specifies the location of the address information that will show through the double-window envelope. Options are Top of First Page and Insert Blank Page. Defaults to Top of First Page, meaning we will print address information at the top of your provided first page. To see how this will impact your letter design, view our letter template. If you pass Insert Blank Page, a blank address page will be inserted at the beginning of your file and you will be charged for the extra page. IMPORTANT: Read our documentation for instructions on image prepping and template layouts.

    • Double Sided

      Boolean that defaults to true. Use false to force single-sided printing.

    • To Name

      The name of the recipient of the letter. Either name or company is required, you may also add both. If both name and company are provided, they will be printed on two separate lines above the rest of the address. Max of 40 characters.

    • To Address Company

      The company of the recipient of the letter. Either name or company is required, you may also add both. If both name and company are provided, they will be printed on two separate lines above the rest of the address. Max of 40 characters.

    • To Address Line 1Required

      Addresses within the US will be standardized and corrected for free using our US Verification engine whenever possible. Non-US addresses will be standardized into uppercase only.

    • To Address Line 2

      Required if within the US.

    • To Address State

      Required if within the US.

    • To Address Zip

      Required if within the US.

    • To Address Country

      Must be a 2 letter country short-name code (ISO 3166), ie. US, CA, etc. Defaults to US.

    • From Address Name

      The name for the return address used on letter. Either name or company is required, you may also add both. If both name and company are provided, they will be printed on two separate lines above the rest of the address. Max of 40 characters.

    • Mail Type

      Designates the mail postage type - defaults to USPS First Class. USPS Standard is a cheaper option which is less predictable and takes longer to deliver. Standard cannot be used for any letters sent outside of the United States. See delivery times here and pricing here.

    • Return Envelope

      Boolean that defaults to false. Use true to add a return envelope into the letter mailing.

    • Custom Envelope

      The id of the custom envelope to use with this letter. The custom envelope must have already been ordered and must currently still be available for the request to be successful.

    • Perforated Page

      Integer that will add a perforation to the page # entered. Required if Return Envelope is used. Please view our perforation guide for details on locations of the perforation.

    • Extra Service

      Add an extra service to your letter. Certified provides tracking and delivery confirmation for domestic destinations, and is an additional $5.00. Certified w/ Return Receipt allows you to request an electronic copy of the recipient's signature in addition to tracking provided by Certified, and is an additional $6.75. Registered provides tracking and confirmation for international addresses, and is an additional $16.50.

    • Send Date

      You may or may not have access to this feature depending on your Lob Edition. See https://lob.com/resources/guides/general/scheduled. A timestamp in ISO 8601 format of the date the postcard will be dispatched for production for up to 3 months in the future.
