Run a Recruiter Pipeline Review
Review pipeline health across all your open reqs, surface stale candidates and Slack flags, and get a prioritized action list delivered as a Slack DM.
Overview
Keeping up with a full recruiter pipeline means switching between Ashby and multiple Slack hiring channels, manually tracking who is stale, who needs attention, and what hiring managers are waiting on. This MCP template automates that entire review -- pulling your open reqs from Ashby, analyzing candidate flow and pipeline health per role, scanning your Slack hiring channels for open action items and flags, and delivering a prioritized action list as a Slack DM. Run it on a schedule or on demand.
How it works
Connect your Ashby and Slack accounts. The template identifies all open requisitions where you are listed as the recruiter, then analyzes each one: active candidate counts, stage breakdowns, stale candidates (7+ days without an update), days the role has been open, and an overall health status. It then finds the corresponding Slack hiring channel for each role and scans the last three business days of messages for unresolved action items, bottlenecks, and positive signals. The full report arrives as a Slack DM -- a portfolio overview followed by a per-role breakdown and a numbered, most-urgent-first action list.
Who this is for
Built for recruiters managing multiple open reqs who want a consistent, low-effort way to stay on top of pipeline health without manually checking every Ashby job and Slack channel. Especially useful when run on a recurring schedule -- twice a week is a common cadence.

Frequently asked questions
How does the template know which reqs belong to me?
It uses your email address to identify which jobs in Ashby list you as the recruiter. Make sure your Ashby account is connected using the same email you use for Zapier.
What counts as a stale candidate?
Any active candidate who has not had an update in 7 or more days is flagged as stale. The report calls them out by name, stage, and days since their last update so you can prioritize quickly.
What does the Slack channel scan cover?
For each open req, the template searches for its corresponding Slack hiring channel and reads the last three business days of messages. It surfaces unresolved action items, bottlenecks or risk signals, and positive candidate endorsements -- anything that might need your attention or a response.
Can I run this on a schedule?
Yes. The template is designed to run both on demand and on a recurring schedule. Twice a week is a common cadence for recruiters managing multiple active reqs -- enough to catch anything that has gone stale without being overwhelming.
