What Pipedrive Triggers and Actions are Supported?#

Supported Triggers#

  • New Organization - Triggers when a new organization is added to Pipedrive.
  • New Deal in a Pipeline Stage - Triggers when a deal enters a specific pipeline stage.
  • New Activity - Triggers when a new activity is created. Activities are appointments/tasks/events on a calendar that can be associated with a Deal, a Person and an Organization.
  • New Deal - Triggers when you create a deal, any deal enters a specific stage, is marked as won or lost, or enters any filtered deals list.
  • New Pipeline - Triggers when a new pipeline is added.
  • New Person - Triggers when a new person is added to Pipedrive.

Supported Actions#

  • Create or Update a Deal - Creates a new deal, or updates an existing deal in Pipedrive. The Deal ID field is required to update an existing deal.
  • Create a Deal - Creates a new deal in Pipedrive. Deals are opportunities that can be moved through a pipeline.
  • Create Note - Creates a new note.
  • Create or Update a Person - Creates a new person, or updates an existing person in Pipedrive.
  • Create Activity - Creates new activity, e.g. scheduled event in a calendar.
  • Create Organization - Creates a new organization. Organizations are companies, i.e. your customers.

Supported Searches#

  • Find Deal - Finds a Deal by title.
  • Find Person - Finds a Person by name or email.
  • Find User - Finds a user by name or email.
  • Find Organization - Finds an Organization by name.

How to Get Started with Pipedrive#

To get started with Pipedrive, first click to add a Pipedrive account to Zapier to be used in your Zap.

Next, you'll be asked for your Pipedrive API Key.

To find your API Key, you'll first want to log into your account and head to your settings.

Not all activities are triggering my Zap#

The New Activity trigger will default to only activities created by the user whose account is connected to Zapier. If you want to trigger on multiple user's activities, you'll want to select "Everyone" from the User dropdown:

Old deals are triggering my Zap#

Both the "New Deal" and "New Deal in Stage" triggers can have issues where they return deals that are old/have been in the stage for awhile but were recently updated. This is because when the zap is turned on, we only get the 100 most recently updated deals. If a deal is updated that is not one of the "original 100", the zap think it's new and trigger.

To get around this, you can build a filter in Pipedrive that takes into account the date the deal was created. Then, pick that filter on this screen:

Duplicate person and/or organization records are being created in Pipedrive#

Currently, the Create Deal and Create or Update Deal actions aren't able to link to an existing person and/or organization. If your zap first creates a person/organization and then creates/updates a deal, you won't be able to link that deal to the person/organization created previously. Doing so will result in duplicate person/organization records.

There are three workarounds:

  1. You can clear out the Organization and Person fields mapped in the Create Deal action or the Create or Update Deal action. This will result in the person and organization records being created, but not tied to the deal.
  2. You can allow the duplicate person/organization records to be created and merge them in Pipedrive after the fact.
  3. You can add a Create Note action at the end of your zap. This action allows you to map the IDs of various records in Pipedrive the note, which will link them all together. The note content can just say something generic like "created via Zapier," but the important fields will be Deal's ID, Person's ID, and Organization's ID. For example, it would look something like this:

We realize that none of these are ideal by any means, and are tracking a feature request for this. Please send us an email if you'd like to be notified when this is improved.

My note is not formatted correctly#

The Note Content field accepts HTML for formatting, so if you want line breaks, bold, or italics text, you can add HTML tags. Here is a good reference for HTML tags: http://htmldog.com/guides/html/beginner/.

Not all phone numbers are showing up#

Pipedrive allows you to add multiple numbers when creating a new person (for example, "work," "mobile," and "home"):

However, because of the way that phone numbers are stored in Pipedrive, Zapier is only able to pull the first number entered in the list (i.e. the 'primary' phone number):

Unfortunately we don't have a great workaround for this; your best bet is to add the phone number to a note or another field that Zapier can pull. We'd like to address this in future updates, though, so please send us an email if you'd like to be notified when we introduce a fix!

I'm trying to send data to custom currency fields but nothing shows up in Pipedrive#

To write data to a custom currency field in Pipedrive, you'll need to fill out the amount field and the currency field. They'll look like this:

If you leave the currency field blank, it'll default to your default currency setting in Pipedrive.

If you need to override that, provide the three letter currency code you see in Pipedrive here:
