Updates to Our Google Drive Integration: Share Newly Added Files

As of 2021, the Share File action is no longer available.

Cloud storage makes it easy to collaborate with the teams on files, but managing permissions by hand takes time.

With the latest release to the Google Drive integration on Zapier, you can define who gets to work on your files through automation. The new Share File Action lets you reference any file and set its sharing permissions as part of a workflow.

You can use this after files you find using the Find a File search to switch file permissions when something changes, or add this action after using Upload File if you want to the permissions a file would normally adopt for a specific folder.

Sharing can be enabled with people in your organization or anyone with the link, and you can set the permission access as viewing only, editing, or commenting, letting you incorporate these permissions in any way you need across all the apps you use.
