TOS Update FAQ

On February 16, 2024, we updated our Terms of Service (TOS). This update will go into effect on March 1, 2024, and includes changes regarding using data to improve Zapier products, governing law/venue, and dispute resolution, along with general clean-up and formatting changes.

Improving Zapier Products

Our TOS update clarifies certain definitions and uses of data to improve Zapier products, including the definition of:

Please note that Usage Information is distinct from:

  • Customer Content, which is data, information, content, or materials you upload to your Zapier account.

We’ve also clarified how Zapier may use de-identified data sets based on Customer Content to improve our products. We continue to provide the following opt-outs:

  • Enterprise and Company Plan Subscribers: If you have an Enterprise or Company plan subscription, your account and everyone on it are automatically opted out from being included in de-identified data sets.
  • Other Subscribers: If you subscribe to any other plan (including our free plan), you can complete this form to opt out of being included in de-identified data sets (requests processed on a per-user basis).

Governing Law/Venue

Based on customer requests, we’ve changed the governing law and venue from California to Delaware.

Dispute Resolution

To assist with the timely and efficient resolution of disputes under our TOS, it now contains an arbitration-based process with JAMS to cover many issues.
