New Service: Pingdom Lets You Be the First to Know When Your Site is Down

One of the scariest things in web development is having your site go down. Even worse is when the site goes down and you don't know about it.

Pingdom solves this problem. Pingdom has servers all over the world to go out and ping your site periodically. When it's down Pingdom alerts you via SMS, email, Twitter or via their mobile apps.

But sometimes SMS or email isn't the way you want to find out about alerts. And that's where the Zapier Pingdom integrations come in. With Zapier you can:

Zapier easily lets you get your Pingdom alerts where ever makes the most sense for you without having to wrangle the Pingdom API.

To use this integration

  1. You’ll need an account on Pingdom and Zapier as well as one on the web applications with which you want to integrate. Pindom has a 30 day risk free trial and a free plan for monitoring one site or server. Zapier has both free and paid plans.
  2. Create an alert in Pingdom to use as your Zapier trigger.
  3. Check out any of the integrations used with Zapier and Pingdom.

The short youtube video walks you through getting Pingdom alerts in Campfire, but you can easily use this as a template for other Pingdom Zaps.

If you want to build an integration for your web or mobile service check out the Zapier developer platform.
