Look up People in FullContact

Imagine you have a stack of business cards in your hand after a networking event and, instead of hiding them away in your desk drawer to be forgotten, you actually want to put those new contacts to use. That’s where FullContact’s Card Reader is a lifesaver: it scans business cards to contact lists for you. Many people have pumped up the power of FullContact by plugging it into Zapier and sending those contacts to other 500+ apps, like this:

And now thanks to Zapier’s new Search Actions feature, you can use FullContact’s person and company profile enrichment features with Zapier, too. You can now leverage FullContact to look up more information about a particular contact or a company mid-workflow. Then, you can use the information you just found in the next step of your Multi-Step Zap. Here’s how you can put these new capabilities to use:

Look Up Contacts Mid-Zap to Learn More about Them

Use a Slack bot to look up contact details in FullContact

One cool way the Zapier team is using the “Find Person” Search Action in a FullContact Zap is by creating a bot in Slack. Whenever a Slack user types in the command “$whois” followed by an email address, the Zap will automatically look up that email address in FullContact then will shoot back a message with what it found. It's a fun way to do a quick contact look-up in the middle of a team conversation.

Another great example of putting the “Find Person” Search Action to use is a Zap that automatically finds out more about your Twitter followers. Whenever you get a new Twitter follower, the Zap automatically finds out more about the follower through a FullContact lookup. Then the Zap creates a new contact in Infusionsoft or updates an existing Infusionsoft contact if the follower already exists as a contact.

Since you now have more information about that Twitter follower and have them saved in Infusionsoft, you can include them in future sales and marketing campaigns.

Look Up Company Information using a Zap

Look up company information in FullContact

You can also use the “Find Company” Search Action to look up more information about a company and use that information later in the same Zap.

For example, your team might receive several help tickets in Zendesk from the same company, so your team creates a new Zendesk organization for the company. You can set up a Zap that automatically looks up the new Zendesk organization in FullContact to learn more details about the company. Then the Zap will update the newly created Zendesk organization with the details that FullContact just found. Finally the Zap will take all that information from Zendesk and FullContact and use it to automatically create a new organization in your CRM, Pipedrive.

With this Zap, you have helpful information stored about that company without any manual searches or data transfers across apps.
