New on Zapier: A Fresh Look and Easier Zap Creation

You might notice that things look a little different when you're creating or editing a Zap. That's because we've redesigned our Zap editor: The new experience simplifies the process without losing any of the power behind your automations.

We hope the new design speaks for itself, but here are some answers to questions you might have about the new look.

Why the change?

We want automation to be accessible to everyone, and we got lots of feedback that our Zap editor was too complex. The new design simplifies things—allowing users of all technical levels to create a Zap quickly—without sacrificing Zapier's power or advanced features.

What's different about the new editor?

A few things!

  • Visual builder. The editor is streamlined, so you only see what you need to see when you need to see it. You can focus on building your Zaps one step at a time.
  • Step outline. The outline tab shows you a high-level overview of your entire Zap. Use the search to find a step by name, by number, or by what it does.
  • Step-by-step support. The embedded help tab makes essential tips available every step of the way. So if you run into trouble while setting up or editing a Zap, you'll get suggestions without having to leave the screen.
  • Faster setup. Setting up a Zap now requires just a few clicks from start to finish.

As we continue to make Zapier easier to use, there will probably be a few more changes in the coming months. So if you have specific feedback on how we can improve the Zap editor, feel free to let us know.

Will any of my existing Zaps be affected?

Absolutely not. The only thing that's changing is the look and feel of the editor. All of your Zaps (existing and new) will continue to work the same way; you'll just create and edit them within the new design.
