To convert potential clients into paying for your service, you play a numbers game. Your service needs to get in front of as many eyes as possible, without costing an exorbitant amount in money and time.

Most folks turn to advertisements on the internet—specifically, on social media. When it comes to digital ads and best return on investment, Facebook Lead Ads have about 30% of the market. With the ability to target specific audiences, you can use Facebook lead ads to deliver your content to the right people at the right time. Just ask Alisha Browne, Web Developer & Marketing Coordinator at University of North Carolina Wilmington's (UNCW) Cameron School of Business.

To spread awareness about the school to potential grad students, Alisha turned to Facebook's ads. With them, she manages multiple campaigns at once. But she wound up with a backlog of manual work: In order to send prospects to a customer relationship manager (CRM), she had to download leads from Facebook and upload them daily.

When she connected Facebook Lead Ads to app automator Zapier, her work changed for the better.

"Zapier saves me at least an hour a week by syncing our leads with our CRM. It also avoids any gaps in consistency—and that's priceless!"Alisha Browne, Web Developer & Marketing Coordinator, UNCW

About UNCW's Cameron School of Business

Branching out of UNCW's Business and Economics program in 1979, the Cameron School of Business (CSB) now teaches over 2,000 undergraduates and 230 graduate students each year. Beyond an education, the CSB connects students with business leaders and resources in the Wilmington community, forging connections at companies like nCino, Bank of America and Corning.

Building connections comes naturally to the department, so when it came time for Alisha to make her work more efficient, she built connections between apps in Zapier.

Automatically Move Leads to a CRM

If your work involves data of any kind, you likely have plenty of experience with copy/paste and export/import. You lose valuable time when manually moving information from app to app—time that's better spent on outreach, marketing, or any other task that requires a human touch.

So when Alisha discovered Zapier, she had a simple, powerful workflow ready to automate: Facebook lead ads to a CRM. And, to be safe, she wanted to to create a backup database for leads. To accomplish both of these workflows, Alisha built Zaps—our word for automated workflows. Zaps connect apps that normally don't, like Facebook lead ads and HubSpot or Google Sheets.

With automation in her arsenal, Alisha was ready to get as many eyes as possible on CSB and had the Zaps to handle it.

The Workflows

With Zapier, Alisha took aim at her biggest time-consumer: moving leads from Facebook to HubSpot.

"I manage a lot of Facebook lead generation campaigns, and lose time regularly downloading our leads," Alisha explains. "Zapier allowed me to build a Zap to automatically input our new leads into our CRM through a HubSpot form."

At minimum, this one Zap saves Alisha an hour every week. In case HubSpot is your CRM of choice, we included a few extra Zaps connecting it with Facebook lead ads:

You never need a backup until you need a backup. Following the classic 'better safe than sorry' adage, Alisha created a system of backups in case there was ever an issue with their CRM. Simply, this backup Zap adds new Facebook leads to Google Sheets and sends out an email through Gmail.

"When we had to temporarily pause lead imports into HubSpot, I was still able to keep track of ad-generated leads as well as have an automated email go out without having to do anything manually," Alisha says. "It was a life saver!"

In case you didn't see your favorite apps in Alisha's workflows, check out other Zaps with Facebook Lead Ads:

It doesn't take much to save hours every week and create a reliable system of backups. For Alisha and the Cameron School of Business, it was just a few Zaps away.

"Now that I don't have to manually move leads around, I can spend more time nurturing these leads through email campaigns and personalization!" she says.
