Overview

✔️ Stay consistent with moderation policies even during fast-paced events.

✔️ Ensure timely responses to attendee emails with AI-drafted suggestions.

✔️ Log key feedback throughout the year for future conference improvements.

Moderating a large-scale event can be tricky, and it’s important we keep records of actions taken as our moderators raise issues that might warrant a response. We built a series of Zaps to help us stay consistent in our policy, notify the correct moderators in Slack as things are moving fast, and log all actions taken for future records.

How it works

  • Zap 1: When the moderation emoji is used, log the Slack thread in Coda doc and send a threaded Slack response with how to approach next steps.

  • Zaps 2-4: After the risk team makes a decision, the appropriate Slack emoji (no action needed, warn user, ban user) is used to trigger a Zap. Then the status is updated accordingly in the logged Coda row with the result and a threaded response is sent in Slack tagging the original poster (moderator) with the decision and next steps.
