I first created a Slack bot, where I write a “keyword” which is selected based on our company marketing team’s research (based on the current trends), then this will act as a trigger and populate a row in Microsoft Excel.

This new row entry then triggers a new Zap where it reads the keyword and runs it on ChatGPT, gives me 5 article ideas and short description. Now we wanted to have manual intervention at this point, an ability to select what topic we publish, so we added the Approval Button step here. This message comes to us on a separate Slack channel as a “content bot” where I can reply in thread what topic I want to select or what changes I want to make. Now an important point here is that we have made a lot of changes in the prompt for ChatGPT already to get the optimum output which is why we only use the “comment” step once. We can always add more steps of manual intervention if required.

After this step it will take the comments and the topic back to ChatGPT and start building an article. It will also generate an AI-built picture using DALL·E for the article.

Now the main issue was formatting for us, so what I did was using Zapier Formatter I got an HTML version of the article and then I was able to generate a properly formatted article on Google Docs in our approved folder.

This seemed pretty cool to me as it allowed me to create 100 articles in 1-2 hours which would have otherwise taken us at least 4-5 days.
