Why we built it
✔️ Build powerful workflows without needing to babysit them
✔️ Decrease the risk of issues slipping into production workflows
✔️ Give your team a single source of truth for system updates and changes
Overview
We built this system after realizing we were wasting too much time digging through Slack trying to figure out what had changed across platforms like HubSpot and Zendesk. Small changes—like updating a field or tweaking a process—were slipping through the cracks and sometimes causing serious problems. Now, with this changelog bot, we automatically capture important updates and keep everyone on the same page.
Problem Tracking changes across all our workflows and systems was a nightmare. Without a clear record, small updates—whether to CRM fields, spam scrubbing workflows, or bulk lead statuses—could easily break automations.
We were seeing:
Issues creeping up quickly and sometimes causing real chaos
Our team wasting hours chasing context across Slack
Updates falling through the cracks, especially in our ad-to-CRM lead flow Zaps
Solution
We set up an automation so anytime a new event gets added in Airtable, it posts a formatted message into Slack automatically. That way, everyone sees it in the channel right away—no extra steps.
How it works
When: A team member reacts to a Slack message with a designated Reactji (emoji).
Then:
Filter → Only continue if the reaction was from your team.
AI → Summarize the change using OpenAI.
Share → Add the update to Coda (or any database you prefer like Airtable, Google Sheets, etc.).
💡 Tip: You can also post a link to the changelog entry back in Slack for easy access and transparency!
AI Prompts
Assign a title: “I’m a helpful assistant. Analyze the text and create a 50-character title for the change. No intro text.”
Summarize the change:
“I’m acting like a project manager. Summarize the update in 200–250 characters without any intro like ‘Summary:’.”
