Pedaler Referral Program: Step 1

“I designed a referral program for Food Pedaler that incentivizes couriers ("Pedalers") to include promo cards in orders for new customers. When a new customer orders, Google Sheets logs a new line in an aggregated list of customers. A filter blocks any orders that aren't for delivery (i.e. pickup orders) from continuing to the next step. Next, Zapier finds the customer's order in a separate worksheet and waits until 25 minutes before the order is due. It then checks that the order wasn't cancelled during that time. Using a GET Webhook, Zapier checks Shipday's API (which Food Pedaler uses for delivery management) to see which Pedaler is assigned to the order. It looks up the Pedaler's Telegram ID in a separate Google Sheets worksheet. Then it calculates the number of cards to include with the order, based on the subtotal (a higher subtotal assumes the order is for more people, therefore more cards, and vice versa). Finally, using the Pedaler's Telegram ID and assigning the number of cards and the customer's name as custom fields, ManyChat sends the Pedaler a message through Telegram: "[Customer Name] is a new fan! Include [Number of Cards] with their order!" with a button that says "[Number of Cards] Dropped!" I'll explain how the referral is then assigned to the Pedaler in Step 2.”
