Senior Benefits and Leave Management Specialist

We're looking for a Senior Benefits and Leave Management Specialist to join the Compensation and Benefits team at Zapier. Zapier is on a mission to make everyone more productive at work. Zapier is in growth mode and needs a dedicated Benefits and Leave Management Specialist to manage and provide input into our benefits, wellness, and leave programs. About You

  • You’re an excellent written communicator. We’re also a 100% remote team, and writing is our primary means of communication at Zapier.
  • You’re able to think strategically and empathically. You’re able to think at a high-level about our programs but understand these programs have personal impact to employees and take that into consideration when determining the design and administration of a program.
  • You’ve implemented and administered international benefits and leave through third-party administrators and in-house. We’re globally distributed which introduces to how and through whom our benefits programs are administered. You’re comfortable with the complexity but also have experience advising how to simplify and improve the administration.
  • You’re solid at time management. You’ll juggle a variety fast-moving communications projects, and as a part of a distributed team, you’ll be trusted to work with minimal supervision. Things You’ll Do

Benefits and Wellness

  • Provide input into strategy of and own implementation and management of Canada, UK, and U.S. health, life, disability, and wellness programs.
  • Project manage benefit renewals for Canada, UK, and US as well as US Open Enrollment including partnering with brokers/vendors, managing timelines, and overseeing implementation.
  • Drive maintenance and improvement of benefits policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Own systems administration (Canada, UK, and U.S. new hire open enrollment, termination and update of benefits) and partner with our third-party benefit administrators as needed.
  • Ensure benefits programs deliver a great employee experience through innovative solutions, communications, and education.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with the Finance, People Ops, and Legal teams.
  • Support global expansion (e.g. implementing new entities) on benefits activities including due diligence and integration.
  • Participate in benefit surveys and stay abreast of benefits and wellness trends, compliance updates and requirements. Ensure all benefits programs are compliant with applicable laws (e.g., HIPAA, COBRA, STD/LTD, ACA, ADA W/C, OSHA, ERISA) as well as tax rules for FSA and HSA plans)

Leaves of Absence

  • Provide input into strategy of and own implementation and management of global leave programs (medical and parental).
  • Serve as the employee point of contact and coordinator for all medical and parental leaves
  • Partner with our third-party benefits provider and payroll to ensure accurate delivery of leaves, and salary and benefits continuation.
  • Own communication and program collateral to ensure benefits programs are communicated effectively and creatively to employees and dependents.
  • Stay abreast of compliance updates and requirements. Ensure all leave programs are compliant with applicable laws (e.g., STD/FMLA/LTD, CFRA, PFL, ADA)

Other duties

  • Travel of 5% - 10% for company retreats that rotate to various cities throughout North America.
  • As a part of our All Hands Support initiative, help customers have the best possible experience with Zapier
