Director of Community

We're looking for a Director of Community to join our Customer Support and Success team at Zapier. Zapier’s on a mission to make everyone more productive at work. Zapier has helped over 1.8 million individuals and businesses with their automation needs. Our Director of Community will be responsible for creating the vision and overseeing the building, continuous progress, and iterations to our online community. This role will be at the forefront of new ideas and initiatives to continue to scale, iterate, and bring innovation to our online community of customers, developers and partners. About You

  • You’re a skilled Community Leader. We’re looking for 5+ years of experience in the SaaS Industry and  5+ years in relevant community leadership across all aspects of Community moderation, content, traffic strategic direction or similar
  • You're an innovator. You enjoy finding ways to make strategic improvements to existing Community efforts and dreaming up new ways to empower others.
  • You’re an excellent written communicator. We’re a 100% remote team, and writing is our primary means of communication at Zapier.
  • You’re creative and resourceful. You try as many angles as possible to secure opportunities that drive traffic to the community and keep engagement levels high. You keep up on industry trends, are comfortable navigating the automation/no-code space, and remove obstacles for your team when faced with a problem.
  • You believe relationships are critical to success. You’re excellent at building relationships within the Community and the company, are comfortable pitching new ideas, and you keep an eye out for potential partnerships that create value for everyone involved.
  • You are an excellent coach. You are positive, goal-oriented, and love helping people grow.
  • You’re solid at time management. You’ll juggle a variety fast-moving communications projects, and as a part of a distributed team, you’ll be expected to help your team do the same.
  • You love doing things efficiently. As a part of a growing company, you have an opportunity to make a big impact, and you’re keen to build processes that’ll make your job more efficient over time.

Things You’ll Do

  • Develop a community strategy that empowers Zapier customers and partners to come together around sharing automation, contributing use cases, and trading expertise
  • Create opportunities for our community to build meaningful relationships with Zapier and one another
  • Collaborate with our Product, Marketing and Partnerships team to develop a community playbook that will empower Zapier customers, partners, and  key stakeholders with the tools necessary to extend Zapier’s values throughout all community related initiatives
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product and Design teams to bring community to life by way of content, events, promotions, gamification and ideation
  • Drive Zapier’s Community engagement strategy
  • Keep a pulse on the Zapier community, regularly reporting back to stakeholders within the company, developing special relationships with thought leaders within the community, and developing initiatives to bring thought leaders together for unique experiences and a direct line of communication with Zapier
  • Lead a team of Community professionals ensure they are successful and guide them to grow their careers
  • Identify, drive and track relevant metrics of success, reporting on community metrics, customer experience, and community engagement
  • Responsible for developing the vision, leading the definition of the Community roadmap and driving accountability across the team.
  • Be a strong advocate for our Community across the entire company, demonstrating its value to our organization.
  • Travel of 5% - 10% for company retreats that rotate to various cities throughout North America.
  • As a part of our All Hands Support initiative, help customers have the best possible experience with Zapier

Our distributed environment lets us work with the best people. You don't have to be located in the USA either. Some team members live in the United Kingdom, Thailand, India, Nigeria, Taiwan, Guatemala, New Zealand, Australia, and more! You just need the skills and drive to succeed in this role and the ability to work from anywhere.
