Share a copy of your Zap

Last updated:

If you've created a Zap that you want to let others use as a template, you can create a share link to share a copy of the Zap.

You have a Zap set up to trigger whenever you receive a new email with an attachment from Gmail, which then uploads the attachment to Dropbox. You can share a copy of the Zap so others can use the Zap with their own Gmail and Dropbox accounts.

Create a share link for your Zap

There are two ways to share a copy of your Zap:

  • In the modal, click the Choose who can copy this Zap dropdown menu and select Link - anyone with the link can copy this Zap.
  • Next, add a name and description to your Zap. This what users will see when they open the share link to your Zap.
  • Click Save.

  • A share link will be generated. To copy the share link, click Copy.
  • Share that link anywhere you want—in an email, a social post, or your team's chat app. Anyone who clicks the share link will be able to create a copy of your Zap from your template.

If you have a Team or Company plan, you can:

  • Set internal-only access to your share link. Only members of your account can view your share link.
  • Allow specific members of your account to access your Zap link. Those members will receive an email invite with the share link.

Disable copy access to your Zap

There are two ways to disable copy access to your Zap:

  • In Zaps, click the dropdown arrow on the right of a Zap where copy sharing has been enabled, then select Sharing Permissions.
  • In the Zap editor, click Share in the upper right.
  • In the modal, click the Choose who can copy this Zap dropdown menu and select Disable sharing.
  • This will disable your Zap's share link. Anyone who clicks the link will see a message informing them that copy sharing has been disabled for the Zap, with options to browse other Zap ideas or create their own Zap.

At this time, Zaps with paths, code steps, private apps, legacy apps, legacy triggers, or legacy actions cannot be shared as copies. This feature will be available at a later update.
Additionally, accounts on a Free Legacy plan can't share Zaps that use Webhooks by Zapier. You can see what plan you are on by visiting your billing and usage settings.
