Google Ads error: “Your Google Ads account may not be properly connected to Zapier”

The Google Ads step returns an error about invalid permission (“Your Google Ads account may not be properly connected to Zapier”) when trying to send or receive data.


This error can happen when Zapier has not been set as a linked account from within your Google Ads account.

How to fix it


If you use a Manager account, you can link Zapier with the top-level Manager account to make a link to all sub-accounts.

To unlink Zapier from your Google Ads account you can follow the instructions above and then click Unlink.
