If you have a URL that you want to shorten in a Zap, you can use URL Shortener by Zapier to create a shortened link. This is helpful when you need to enter a URL in an app but the field has character limits.
Shorten URLs in Zaps
Last updated:1. Add a URL shortener action
- In the Zap editor, click the Action step, or click the plus + icon to add a step to your Zap.
- Search for and select URL Shortener by Zapier.
- Click the Event dropdown menu and select Shorten URL.
- Click Continue.
2. Customize your URL
- Enter the URL that you want to shorten. Include http:// or https:// in the URL.
- Click Continue.
3. Test your URL shortener action
- Click Test & Continue.
- If the URL you entered is valid, the step will show it was successful. You can use this shortened URL in later Zap steps.
Note
URL Shortener cannot return HTTPS
URLs, only HTTP
URLs, and shortened URLs are random and cannot be customized.
