# Import Airtable records into Zapier Tables

Connect Airtable, choose a base and table, preview your fields, and import records into Zapier Tables without changing your source base.

Importing records is only one part of moving a working database. You'll still need to check field behavior, rebuild anything that doesn't carry over, and keep Airtable available while you validate the new table.

Zapier now has a dedicated Airtable import page and an updated app-import experience for moving records into a new Zapier Table. Connect your Airtable account, choose a base and table, select the fields you want, and import them without changing the source base.

## Choose the Airtable data you want to move

The importer guides you through one Airtable base and table at a time. After you connect Airtable, you can choose the fields you want to bring over and preview the records before creating your Zapier Table.

The import only reads from Airtable. Your original base stays as it was, so you can keep both versions open while you confirm the data and rebuild your workflows.

## Start working before a large import finishes

Depending on the size of the table, imports take seconds to minutes. Larger imports continue loading in the background, so you can start working in the new table while the remaining records arrive.

## Connect the imported records to your workflows

Once the records are in Zapier Tables, you can connect them to workflows across 9,000+ apps.

Imported records do not automatically trigger Zaps that use the Zapier Tables New Record trigger. To process historical records, select them in the table, choose **Automate records**, and send them to the published Zaps you want to run.

## Check your Airtable setup before switching

Some Airtable features, including certain lookup and comment behaviors, do not have a direct Zapier Tables equivalent. The current importer handles one table at a time, so relational bases may require several imports and some relinking. Check the parts of your Airtable setup that your team depends on before you switch; a Zap or a different setup can cover some missing behavior.

Zapier Tables is included with every Zapier plan. Importing data directly from an app is currently available on Team and Enterprise plans, and record and custom-view limits depend on your plan.
