# You Can't Embed a Video in Constant Contact, But You Can Create a Link. Here's How.

It would be nice if you could embed a video in Constant Contact, allowing recipients to watch without opening another browser tab. Unfortunately, as of this writing, that's not possible.

It would be nice if you could embed a video in Constant Contact, allowing recipients to watch without opening another browser tab. Unfortunately, as of this writing, that's not possible. The good news: You can create a link to your video, complete with a thumbnail, in just a couple of clicks. Here's how to do that.

## How to Add a Constant Contact Video Link For YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia Videos

Constant Contact can automatically pull in thumbnails and create a link for videos hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia. To get started, click the _More_ button in the left-side toolbar.

Next, select _Video_.

This will add a video box to your email.

Click the box, and you'll see the _Edit_ option.

From here, you can paste a YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia link in the _Video URL_ box. Next, click _Test Link_.

Constant Contact will pull in a thumbnail. Click _Insert_, and you'll see the link to the video in your email.

The video will open a new tab, meaning your email will still be there when subscribers are done watching.

## How to Add a Constant Contact Video Link For Other Videos

Note that, if your video isn't hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia, you can't use Constant Contact's automatic feature to generate a thumbnail. What you can do is create your own thumbnail, add that to your email, and link to your video.

First, use the _Image_ option in the left sidebar to add an image box to your email.

Next, click the email and select _Edit_.

Upload your desired thumbnail, then select it as your image. Note that, if you want a play button, you'll need to add it yourself with an image editor before uploading.

Click _Insert_, and you'll see your image in the email body. Click it again to bring up the toolbar, then click the _Link_ box.

Choose _Web Page_ in the dropdown menu.

Paste the URL to your video, then click _Insert_.

Readers will now be able to click your thumbnail in order to open your video.
