# How to create a new note in OneNote from a Notion database

Keep your to-do list up to date. Here's how to easily connect Notion with OneNote with Zapier's automated workflows.

Want to try this workflow? Click on the Zap template to get started. Plus, keep reading for more details on how to set up this Zap in the video transcript below.

What I want to do today is [connect our Notion and OneNote apps](https://zapier.com/apps/notion/integrations/onenote) so that when a new database item is created in our Notion app, a page will automatically be created in our OneNote app. Let's dive in.

In order to get started with this workflow, I need to create a Zap by clicking the button on the left-hand side of the screen. Because I want my Notion database items to trigger the creation of a page in OneNote, I'll need to use Notion as my trigger. I can find the app by typing it into the search bar and clicking below. The trigger screen will then pop up.

I should click **New Database Item** for my event, and click **Continue**.

The first time we set up an event in Notion, we will need to authenticate it with Zapier. A link will pop up for you to log into your Notion account. Don't worry, it's totally safe because [Zapier uses bank level encryption](https://zapier.com/security-compliance).

Once I'm logged in, I'll need to set up the trigger app's data under _Database_. I'm going to click the database I want to use for my trigger. I'm going to click **Journal**. Then I'll click **Continue**.

In order to finish setting up the trigger, we'll need to pull in some example data to do that. Click **Test Trigger**. Now, you're all set with the first step. Click **Continue**, and we can start creating our action.

Type in **OneNote** in the search bar and select it from the dropdown menu. Next, click **Create Note**, and click **Continue**.

From there, I can select our account and authenticate OneNote with Zapier, just like I did with my Notion account. Click **Continue**, and it's time to assign our trigger app's data into the action apps field.

Under the _Title_ dropdown, select **Title**, and then under _Content_, click the section that you want to put in your notes page. I'm going to **click Storyboard Scene One**.

Next, click **Test and review**, and I should be all set. There it is. This is ready to turn on.

Now, anytime a new database item is created in our Notion app, a page will automatically be added into our OneNote app. Want to try it yourself? Click on the Zap template below to get started.
