6 ways to automate Webflow

With Webflow, designers and teams can create, collaborate on, and launch responsive websites, with no coding or dev help required. But that's the easy part.

Websites aren't static. Even after you launch your website, you'll still need to create new blog posts, build news sections for upcoming events, or track forms your leads and customers submit. And since a lot of that work requires updating information across the other platforms you use, you can see where things get messy.

That's why a lot of Webflow users rely on Zapier to connect their platforms, saving a whole lot of time—and headaches. Here are a few popular Zaps—our word for automated workflows—to help you make the most out of Webflow and your website.

Table of contents

Archive your form submissions

Sometimes, you'll want to catalog your form submissions directly into a spreadsheet or another database app as a backup solution—without exporting and importing that data. (Say tedious.)

Archiving important Webflow items like email subscribers, contacts, and more can help you keep track of every form submission so you can easily reference them in the future. These Zaps help you automatically store all your form submissions in the app of your choice, so you can forget about copying and pasting manually:

Update your website content

Alternatively, you might want to create or update items inside Webflow whenever you or your team update something in your spreadsheet or database app. This is handy if you want to create content like new blog posts in a timely way or if you want to update live items in Webflow so that they match your records across your different platforms.

Set up instant alerts

Need to stay on top of form submissions or new orders that come in through your website? While not every form you receive will require your immediate attention, Zapier can help you and your team keep track of what's important.

Whether it's a customer in need of support or a warm lead that your sales team can reach out to, these Zaps will send you instant alerts to let you know. Stay on top of the activity happening across your website.

Turn your leads into subscribers

Well done—you're consistently collecting email addresses via your website form! Now, you probably want to nurture those prospects through your marketing funnel, right?

Adding those email addresses straight to your mailing list or CRM means you can start engaging leads as soon as they've expressed an interest. No more bottlenecks, just good marketing.

Organize and update your CMS items

You probably need to regularly update collection items (like blog posts, authors, emails, and more) inside Webflow's CMS function and make sure to publish them. A lot of that information you'll get through Webflow's form submissions, but reviewing those submissions and then updating individual items takes a lot of work.

Zapier can do the heavy lifting for you by either turning form submissions into published items, creating new collection items automatically, or creating new items for you to review later. It's a better way to keep your Webflow content organized and up to date within the CMS.

Do more with webhooks

For even more customization, you can use webhooks to receive data from any service or send requests to any URL—without code or running servers. Put simply, webhooks are automated messages sent from apps when something happens. The message (or payload) is then sent to a unique URL.

You can use Webhooks by Zapier to send the form submissions you receive through Webflow to another app. This is handy if the app you want to send this information to isn't supported by Zapier. That way, a POST will be made to your chosen webhook URL every time a new submission is made via Webflow.

Webflow and Zapier, better together

You're already a pro when it comes to Webflow. Now you're ready to supercharge your workflows to get more done and make more of an impact with automation.

These automations can help you seamlessly manage your website leads, organize your CMS, and fuel your marketing and sales efforts so you can grow your business faster.
