Do you use Trello to organize projects with your team? Project management tools like Trello give everyone a bird's-eye view of what they're working on.

Using Trello with Zapier, you can set up automations with filters to further declutter your workflow. Filters tell Zaps when to run and what information to pass through to your other apps. Once you have it set up, Zaps can effectively block out noise that's irrelevant to your work. Here are a few examples:

  1. Set up a Zap that creates a Google Calendar event, but only if a due date is set on a new Trello Card.
  2. Create a Trello Card if a new Typeform entry contains a specific answer to your question.
  3. Send yourself an email when a checklist is added to any Trello card, but only if you're a member on the card.

In short, filters let you choose if and when your Zaps run.

How to Automate Trello with Filters by Zapier

  1. Make sure you have a Zapier account and a Trello account.
  2. Pick a Trello automation template—these are a couple of our favorites. Or, create a Zap from scratch.

  3. Select a trigger for your Zap.
In this example, we’d set up a Zap that creates Google Calendar events when a new Trello card is added and only when a due date is specified.

4. Click on the plus sign in editor to add a filter. Set up the filter to check for specific information or timing.

5. Select an action and turn your Zap on. In this case, we’ll create a Google Calendar event.

That’s it! Learn more about filters here. To really see filter’s full capabilities, create a Zap with filters now.
