Managing contacts is likely not how you want to spend your time. If you run a business or work in sales, your time is better spent meeting with potential customers, contacting potential leads, and improving your organization's products and services, seeing as that's what gets you customers in the first place.
HubSpot CRM is a free customer relationship management app that helps salespeople and other client-facing workers manage their contacts. The app is a free companion to other HubSpot products, namely, Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, and Service Hub. The idea is that you use HubSpot CRM for free to build your network, and then upgrade to other paid services when you're ready to grow. Alternatively, if you're already using other HubSpot products, you can easily add HubSpot CRM to add more value to your marketing, sales, and service efforts.
HubSpot CRM is similar to other CRM systems, so if you have experience with one, transitioning to HubSpot should be a piece of cake. The app is well designed and easy to navigate.
A main Sales Dashboard shows the most recent activity in your account, such as contact created, source of new contacts, returning contacts, and so forth. At the top are tabs for Contacts, Conversations, Marketing, Sales, Service, Automation, and Reports.
The Contacts section allows you to enter new contacts, whether individuals or organizations, update existing ones, and add details about the people in your network. The Conversations tab gives you tools for creating email snippets and templates. The Sales area is for tracking deals, tasks, documents, and meetings. The Marketing area provides options for Lead Capture services; for example, you can set up a form on your website and have the answers to form submissions automatically port into your CRM. Other portions of the Marketing tab (Email and Landing Pages) remain locked until you upgrade to include them Similarly, the Service tab (for providing customer service through a ticketing system) remains locked until you upgrade to include it, as does the Automation section. Finally, in Reports, you can leverage analytical tools provided by HubSpot and create custom dashboards.
Adding new entries to your Contacts takes little more than typing in someone's email address or company domain. With that information, HubSpot CRM automatically adds any other details it knows about that person, team, or company. When you select a contact, you see a detailed history of your interactions with that person, including email conversations that HubSpot CRM can pull in from your inbox.
Under the Sales tab, you use Deals and Tasks to manage ongoing work. When managing Deals, you can list all the steps that need to be completed in either a table or a kanban-style board, the latter offering a great way to view the status of tasks as they move through a workflow, or organize deals based on how close you are to closing them.
HubSpot includes a Learning Center, where you can pick up tips on how to use the tool or get some assistance with larger issues pertaining to sales and lead generation. HubSpot offers lessons on Facebook lead generation, SEO training, inbound marketing programs, content marketing, and other topics.
Because it's a free CRM that lets you include an unlimited number of members in your account, HubSpot is extremely attractive for small and micro businesses. It helps you manage your contacts, track leads and deals, and stay in touch with clients and customers all for free. It also offers room for growth through upgrade options to include more tools for your team.
