# Zapier MCP

Connect your AI agent to 9,000+ apps (Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Jira, GitHub, HubSpot, and more) through Zapier's Model Context Protocol server. Your agent gets tool-callable access to 40,000+ actions using natural language — no custom API code needed.

## When to use this skill

- You need your agent to send Slack messages, create Jira tickets, update spreadsheets, or take actions across business apps
- You want a single MCP connection that covers thousands of apps instead of building individual integrations
- You're configuring an MCP client (Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, ChatGPT, OpenCode, etc.)

## Prerequisites

- A Zapier account — sign up free at https://zapier.com/sign-up
- An MCP-compatible AI client

## Setup

### 1. Create an MCP server

Go to https://mcp.zapier.com and click **New MCP Server**. Select your AI client, name the server, and create it.

### 2. Add tools

Click **Add tool**, search for an app (e.g. Slack), select an action (e.g. "Send Channel Message"), authenticate if prompted, and save.

### 3. Connect your AI client

Click **Connect** on your MCP server page. Follow the client-specific instructions to add the server URL to your client's MCP configuration. The configuration typically looks like:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "zapier": {
      "url": "https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_ZAPIER_MCP_TOKEN>"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### 4. Verify

Ask your AI: "What tools do I have available?" It should list the Zapier actions you configured.

## Capabilities

- **Action chaining**: Execute sequential operations across apps (e.g., find a contact → create a task → send a notification)
- **Conditional logic**: Branch based on action results
- **Data transformation**: Convert and map data between apps
- **Action history**: All executions are logged in your MCP server dashboard
