If you've ever missed an important email that just got buried in your inbox, you've probably asked the sender to cut you a little slack.

But why ask for slack when you can, well, use Slack instead?

Slack is a platform for team communication. Instead of bouncing between a video conferencing tool, a chat app, and your email inbox, you can find everything in one place with Slack. The app is instantly searchable and available wherever you go, and it offers all the communication tools modern teams need.

In addition to the app's main feature—team chat—you can also use it for audio calls or virtual facetime. You can view and join any public channel or create your own if there's no existing one that fits your needs. The app also offers private channels and direct messages (DMs), so you can talk privately to groups or individuals. And if your channel or DM is super active, you can use message threads to keep long discussions organized.

Sharing files like images or sound bites is easy, and you can seamlessly download files or save them for later. It's also straightforward to crosspost files or messages to more than one channel—just copy the message link and paste it wherever it needs to go!

Then there's Slackbot, your friendly robotic sidekick in Slack. It'll ask you a few questions to help set up your account before it goes to work as your personal notifications tool. Slack also offers built-in automation features that let you unfurl Google Drive links, share GIFs from GIPHY with a slash command, and more.

It's not one thing that makes Slack so great. It's all the things it does, in one place, in an interface that makes it fun and easy to stay in touch. It's a team chat app that'll help you do more, together.

You can automate your team chat with Zapier's Slack integrations. Here are a few popular workflows to get you started.
